Ubuntu No Root Password - SOLVED

OK so you have just installed your Ubuntu server, you remember being asked for a user name and password, but the installer never asked you to define the root password, So how do you login as the Root.

Simply login as the user you defined during the installation and then use the following command to change the root password.

$sudo passwd

It will ask you for your current users password, then your new UNIX (Root) password and then to verify it.

Logout and log back in as 'Root' and you know have the password.
